High School Band & Choir - This year students in grades 9-12 had the opportunity to participate in band and choir! There are 13 students participating!  Most of them are learning to play an instrument for the first time!  They are also learning to sing in three parts! Students are graded on their daily participation (45%), concert participation (30%), playing tests (10%), and caring for their instrument and voice (15%).  They may earn extra credit by having lessons before or after school, trying out for honor bands and choirs, or singing the Star Spangled Banner. Hopefully they will be participating in some music contests and going on a few field trips to see musical performances.  For performances they will join together with the 7th & 8th grade band & choir. Their first performance will be the MS/HS Christmas concert on Wednesday, December 8th at 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium!

7th & 8th Grade Choir - Nine students are participating in choir this year.  Last year they only sang in two parts, but this year they are learning to sing in three parts!  Students are graded on their daily participation (55%), concert participation (35%), and singng tests (10%).  They may earn extra credit by having lessons before or after school.  Hopefully they will be participating in some music contests and going on a field trip to see a choral performances.  For performances they will join together with the high school choir. Their first performance will be the MS/HS Christmas concert on Wednesday, December 8th at 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium!

7th & 8th Grade Band - Eleven students are participating in band this year.  They have been playing their instruments for one year now and it will be an exciting year as they keep learning more.  Students are graded on their daily participation (40%), concert participation (30%), playing tests (10%), lessons (10%), and caring for their instrument (10%).  They may earm extra credit by having additional lessons before or after school. Hopefully they will be participating in some music contests and going on a field trip to see an instrumental performance.  Their first performance will be the MS/HS Christmas concert on December 8th, at 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium!

6th Grade Band - Students who are interested in learning to play a band instrument in 6th grade may do so!  So far we have 28 6th graders interested!  Good behavior and hard work are a requirement in order to be in band!  Students are graded on their daily participation (50%), concert participation (30%), playing tests (10%), and caring for their instrument (10%).  They may earn extra credit by having lessons before or after school. 

6th Grade Music - Students are busy learning pitches and rhythms, playing instruments, and singing!  See what they have learned when they perform at the MS/HS Christmas concert on December 8th, at 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium!

5th Grade Music - Students are continuing to play recorder, which they learned last year in the 4h grade.  They are learning new pitches & rhythms and playing more challenging music.  This will prepare them for band next year!  Hear their recoder playing at the MS/HS Christmas concert on December 8th, at 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium!

4th Grade Music - The 4th graders have wonderful singing voices!  The first half of the year will be spent singing and learning to read rhythms.  The second half of the year will be spent learning to read pitches and learning to play the recorder!  Hear their great singing skills at the Elementary Christmas Concert on December 21st, at 2:00 p.m.!

2nd & 3rd Grade Music - Students sing, play classroom instruments, dance, and learn rhythms & other music concepts!  Come and see them perform at the Elementary Christmas Concert on December 21st, at 2:00 p.m.!

*All students in grades 2-6 Music are graded on behavior and participation.  Good behavior and participation are essential for optimal learning!!
